Let me preface with I am a Type A, double Virgo professional event planner so the bar was high and GW knocked it out of the park. I came for the beauty of the venue but stayed for the service. We loved being able to have everything in the same place, from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception to after party. We got so many compliments on how beautiful, unique and cool our venue was. As a Pittsburgh couple, we got a lot of questions on why we would have our wedding in Washington. As soon as our guests stepped foot inside the George Washington, they understood why we chose here.
You will be hard pressed to find another venue like George Washington, who gives you full and total access to the entire hotel starting as early as Thursday of wedding weekend where there are also no other hotel guests aside from those at your wedding able to book the hotel on that weekend. I cannot stress enough how much cooler that made our entire experience. Our wedding day was stress free only having to walk within the venue from event to event.
The food was AMAZING! Every guest I talked to said it was delicious and hot. It was great at our tasting, and the quality stayed the same for the wedding. The Kouzina café attached the hotel was also a delicious and convenient option for both breakfast and lunch.
The staff, especially Erica, was top notch. There was no request too big or small that George Washington wasn’t able to accommodate. Erica had a lot of great suggestions and ideas that helped make the entire weekend run smoothly.
From the event side, everything was perfect. If you are even thinking about booking George Washington as your wedding venue, you need to do it. GW was the perfect backdrop to my fairytale weekend and I can not imagine having this wedding done better anywhere else.

The George Washington Hotel was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding day! Erica and Brooke were the venue coordinators and helped answer all questions leading up to our event. They were responsive and flexible, and worked perfectly with our planner and our other vendors. We had the venue from Friday to Sunday morning which made it very intimate for our bridal party. The venue itself is stunning and offered multiple spaces for the different parts of our day - ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and the afterparty were all in one building, but different rooms / areas of the hotel. The food was excellent - from the snacks delivered to the bridal suite to the reception dinner, everyone was impressed. Thanks to the GW for making our day seamless!

We had our wedding at the GW on 5/6/23. From the very first venue tour working with this team has been amazing. Not only is the venue beautiful and charming with so many different spaces, but the professionalism and service of the staff is top notch. Erica and Brooke are so responsive and always happy and eager to help. Robert runs the venue perfectly and it was just such a pleasure to work with them all for this process. Erica made sure every single small need was met. The staff bent over backwards to make our day perfect. I was a very particular and type-A bride and there was no request i had that ever felt like too much. The food was INCREDIBLE which we were not expecting! All of our guests raved about the food for days to come. There are a million good things that can be said about this place. There was not a single thing we would have changed about our wedding day or wedding planning process. Thank you so much to the GW team for making our wedding fantastic and perfect.

Words cannot even begin to describe how spectacular our experience was working with The George Washington Hotel and its staff! My husband and I got married on 04.29.23 and are beyond grateful we found this venue. It is a one-stop shop to fit all your wedding needs! They have a room for everything from the ceremony to the reception, to an afterparty. If you're looking for the elegance of a hotel but the privacy of a private venue look no further! The venue speaks for itself in its grandeur and historical beauty. Erica, our wedding coordinator, was a joy to work with! She is so friendly, professional, and extremely responsive during the entire process. The support we received from her and Rob, the General Manager, was unmatched. Everything was impeccably timed and there wasn't a detail they didn't think of. The food was phenomenal throughout the entire evening. I can't say enough positive things about Erica and this venue! I highly recommend if you're getting married in the Pennsylvania area, check this place out. You will not be disappointed!

My husband and I had our wedding here in September 2021. The day turned out completely perfect! I was very stressed up until the wedding day. We wanted a historic venue, and in the area I think that is a challenge to find, especially a historic venue that is affordable and not in Pittsburgh or a barn. We decided to do a Sunday wedding because it was less expensive. There were so many things included in the basic wedding package that the wedding felt a lot more expensive than it was! The venue is gorgeous and requires little to no decorating. We wanted a formal wedding and the George Washington was perfect for that. The ceremony space is my favorite part of the venue and was very grand. The food was top notch! Absolutely amazing food and great sized portions. The open bar was included and everyone thought the mixed drinks were good too. The dance floor was plenty big enough. Erica did a great job organizing and setting everything up and made the day a lot less stressful. All of our guests had a great time. Many people told my family that is was the best wedding they had ever been to. You can get ready here, take your photos, ceremony, reception, and we had a great room to stay in. Bed was comfortable, jacuzzi was nice, and our room was large. Looking back we are so happy we decided to have our wedding here!

My husband and I got married at the George Washington Hotel in June 2021. We stumbled upon this gem after what seemed to be months of venue searching. After one visit, we knew the charm of this historic building was for us. The building really sold itself. Couples who want an affordable (compared to other venues around the Pittsburgh area) and unique wedding, this is the place for you! The staff took care of us so well, and answered many of our questions- even hours leading up to the wedding day. The food was delicious, and our guests enjoyed the after party as well. I can't thank the George Washington Hotel team enough for such a memorable and loving day.

I highly recommend the George Washington Hotel to any couple. It was clear to me as soon as we walked through on our initial tour that the venue is unique, beautiful, historic, well preserved and maintained. We used the George Washington for our entire wedding weekend – our ceremony rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, wedding day prep, ceremony, reception, after party, hotel rooms, and breakfast following morning. They executed extremely well at every single event! They were eager to accommodate my detail oriented plans and truly wanted us to have the wedding of our dreams. The venue and their set up lends to having everything all in one, which made planning streamlined. Their packages were fair, clear, and accommodating. Throughout the entire process, I never found a ‘catch’ or any hidden issues. We received so many compliments on our wedding and the George Washington Venue as a whole. As the biggest wedding decision, we were very happy and thankful to have chosen the George Washington Hotel!

My company provided DJ, video, photo, a photo booth for a boutique wedding at the George Washington last week. Anita, Erica, and the rest of the staff were accommodating, kind, and extremely professional. I highly recommend the George Washington hotel for couples looking for a one stop venue to have their ceremony and reception.

We just photographed a wedding there tonight and the staff were excellent to work with. They treated the vendors like gold and were amazing with the guests as well. Erica was truly a joy to work with and the food was crazy good. My wife had the eggplant and I had the steak. Pretty sure the steak was so tender it actually melted in my mouth. As a venue I cannot recommend them enough.
Absolutely a five star experience.
